20 years ago we fell in love with the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, the little herding dog with its extrovert and lively nature. That has always been and will always be something we look for in our breeding, as well as good dogs who conform to the standard of the breed.
To make sure we have a wide genetic base, we sometimes go abroad to find new breeding stock. Thus, we help to preserve the good health and the beauty of our Pems.
Originally, the Pem had a short tail, a bobtail. Then British standard therefore say:
"Tail short, preferably natural". As long as docking was permitted, people took no notice of which pups were born with a natural short tail. But as more and more countries got the docking ban, the natural bobtails became of great interest for those of us who want to preserve the jaunty little behind so typical of the Pembroke Corgi. For years this kennel has been trying to breed for this, which we consider a unique trait of our breed and part of an inheritance that should be preserved.
Many breeders here and abroad work together towards this goal, to preserve the well known and loved jaunty outline of our Pems. These pictures show our success in this.
